The CAUSE, The CARE, The CURE. The 1Voice Foundation supports children with cancer and their families by connecting them with financial, emotional and educational CARE while funding research for tomorrow’s CURE.
As September comes to an end, raising awareness, advocacy and funding for pediatric cancer does not. September is childhood cancer awareness month but for us, it doesn’t end on September 30th. The 1Voice Foundation, a volunteer organization with one paid employee, will continue advocating and being a voice for pediatric cancer every day. For us, it’s personal and a lifetime. We thank all our community partners, supporters, sponsors and generous donors, who allow us to continue our Mission of providing 25 family support programs and fund and operate a pediatric cancer research lab where Dr. Tebbi is developing the vaccine for leukemia and receives no compensation. We are the legislative voice with our Be their Voice legislative committee and we Founded the 1Voice Academy, our partnership with Hillsborough County Schools, to open the first school in the United States for children with cancer.#notjustinseptember#gogoldforchildhoodcancer#gogold#1Voice#betheirvoice#childrenscancerawareness#childrenscancerresearchgroup#NotRareNotFair#VoicesOfAngels... The 1Voice Foundation wishes to thank Alexa Liacko, National Correspondence, Scripps, ABC, Denver, for reaching out to the 1Voice Foundation for a story she was featuring on evacuating during a Hurricane with a medical condition. She explained that she was flying to Tampa to cover the Hurricane and wanted to connect with a family that just couldn’t evacuate and be without electricity due to medical equipment and shelters that are full to capacity when you have a low immune system. I first introduced Alexa to Holley Wade who worked in Emergency Services and wrote the manual on evacuating during a hurricane with a child with cancer. Holley’s son Daniel was diagnosed with a brain tumor so Holley developed this most important plan based on her own personal journey. We then introduced Alexa to Lordyn and her family. Lordyn’s family moved to Hillsborough County from Massachusetts so that Lordyn could attend the 1Voice Academy, the first school in the United States for children with cancer. Lordyn uses a feeding tube and depends on electricity for her feeding tube.Thank you Holley and Lordyn and Lordyn’s family for your time and sharing your story. Also, thank you to Liz Gold, National Producer at The E.W. Scripps Company for her time as well. ... See MoreSee Less
