1Voice Academy: America's First School for Kids With Cancer Opens in Florida
A special school in Tampa Bay, Florida, had its official opening and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday, March 9, 2022. 1Voice Academy in Hillsborough County is the first accredited K-12 U.S. school for kids with cancer.
The CAUSE, The CARE, The CURE. The 1Voice Foundation supports children with cancer and their families by connecting them with financial, emotional and educational CARE while funding research for tomorrow’s CURE.
The 1Voice Foundation has partnered with Pamela Wolter’s, Ph.D., Director of Health Psychology & Neurobehavioral Research and Senior Associate Scientist, Pediatric Branch, National Cancer Institute, for a PACE Study (Physical Activity for Cognitive Effects) and late effects of pediatric brain tumor patients who received radiation and are between the ages of 8-18. This is a randomized controlled Trial and NIH pays for travel and accommodations to the NIH Clinical Center.
