Paul’s Project PACKS

Inspired by a 4th grade student and a family’s journey through childhood cancer, Paul’s Project is dedicated to enlightening the community to the urgency and importance of supporting families of critically ill children. Paul’s Project provides PACKS that are filled with comfort items and necessities and are delivered to Florida Hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses to parents that find themselves in the hospital, have extended hospital stays and are in ICU. PACKS, also known as “yellow bags of sunshine”, include blankets, water, socks, toiletries, notepads and pens and snacks.

The CAUSE, The CARE, The CURE.  The 1Voice Foundation supports children with cancer and their families by connecting them with financial, emotional and educational CARE while funding research for tomorrow’s CURE.

If you are not here in Washington, D.C. at CureFest for Childhood Cancer and would like to participate in our annual Candlelight Vigil, please light a candle at 8:30 pm tonight in your own home.CureFest’s weekend events to be moved indoors to the JW Marriott hotel at 1331 Pennsylvania Ave NW, Washington, DC 20004.Due to the coastal flood warning for the DC area, and for the safety of all CureFest participants, we have made the decision to host all of this weekend’s events indoors. Late Friday night, we confirmed that the JW Marriott can accommodate our group this weekend for the following rescheduled activities:Saturday Rally to the Capitol The format of the Rally to the Capitol has changed to an indoor advocacy session. Anyone planning on attending should meet at the JW Marriott Salon D&E from 2:00 to 3:00 pm. We will hear from childhood cancer families and a grassroots focused organization. We will also record video messages to Congress and write notes to the Biden Cancer Moonshot. Everyone is asked to bring their phone fully charged and a pen. Also, feel free to bring any signs you have made. The Meet and Greet will be held from 5:45 pm - 6:45 pm in Salon 1. The Night of Golden Lights Program will begin at 7 pm in the Grand Ballroom, followed by the Candlelight Vigil. SundayA Message of Hope and Worship will be held Sunday from 9 - 10 am in Salon G.The CureFest Festival will begin at 10 am with kids’ activities in Salon 1. (Games, Crafts, Face Painting.) The main program will begin at 11 am with Performances, Speeches, and Tributes. There will be a shoe memorial display consisting of all shoes that have been sent to us by bereaved families. (Approximately 200) Due to space restrictions, we will not include the shoes donated by the general public. The Tribute Wall will be displayed in the Grand Ballroom on both Saturday and Sunday.
