The 1Voice Foundation is a member of the National Alliance for Grieving Children. We provide bereavement support services to our families who have lost a child to cancer. Personally affected and professionally trained, our Executive Director, Mary Ann Massolio, bereaved mom and pediatric oncology social worker, along with Susan Coppin, LMHC, offer a peer support program that includes anticipatory grief counseling, funeral assistance, individual and family counseling, and monthly family support groups. Dinner and childcare are provided. Siblings who have lost their brother or sister meet simultaneously with our trained volunteers. It is an open-ended support group that does not end in 6 weeks. We collaborate with the Life Center and Hospice. We provide workbooks for the Palliative Care team at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital to work with families who have a dying child and assist these families on this lifelong journey. We host an annual Day of Remembrance each year on the 2nd Sunday in December, National Children’s Memorial Day.
The 1Voice Foundation provides a home-cooked meal to newly bereaved families made with love and comfort from bereaved Mom and Executive Chef, Christen Gray. Chef Christen lost her son Finn to pediatric cancer and understands the Journey that we as bereaved families walk. She prepares and delivers a comfort dinner and Memorial Candle to the family with information regarding the Voices of Angels bereavement program so that no family feels alone and knows that there are fellow bereaved families to embrace and support them.
